With two hostels already operating in central Lisbon and more locations planned in the capital and around the country, HUB is eager to secure its spot on the intersection of high comfort, great hospitality and practical approach to travelling. We want to be the “go-to” hosts for everyone from solitary travellers to numerous groups visiting our beautiful country.

Hotel Admin & Operations Internship

Program Objective: The internship offers participants a comprehensive understanding of managing the business and operational aspects. Interns will develop financial management, operations, human resources, and marketing skills while gaining exposure to the day-to-day administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering supplies for guest rooms and common areas.
  • Work with reception and housekeeping to ensure optimal room turnover and cleanliness.

Staff Management:

  • Participate in the hiring and training process for new staff, particularly front desk, housekeeping, and event staff.
  • Help schedule shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for peak times and special events.
  • Assist in managing employee records, performance reviews, and staff feedback.
  • Support in fostering a positive work environment, helping resolve staff or team-related issues.

Guest Satisfaction and Experience:

  • Analyze guest feedback and reviews to identify areas for improvement to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall guest experience, including upgrading services or amenities based on feedback.
  • Coordinate between departments (front desk, housekeeping, activities) to ensure a seamless guest experience from check-in to check-out.
