Banqueting Trainee

At InterContinental Hotel Malta, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Banqueting Trainee to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in hospitality.

As a trainee, you will receive hands-on experience in providing exceptional service at banquets, events, and functions while learning from our experienced staff.

You will support the banqueting team in preparing event spaces, assisting with food and beverage service, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for our guests.

A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to excellent service are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with setting up banquet rooms, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and cutlery.
Learn and follow standard operating procedures for food and beverage service.
Support with guest service during events by delivering food, refilling beverages, and clearing tables as needed.
Attend team briefings and training sessions to stay informed about upcoming events, service standards, and safety procedures.
Observe and assist in taking guest orders and communicating effectively with kitchen staff and supervisors.
Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of event spaces before, during, and after service.
Learn to handle guest inquiries and requests professionally and courteously.
Participate in end-of-event breakdown and resetting of the banquet room for the next function.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Previous hospitality experience is an advantage but not required – full training will be provided.
