hygiene officer
Sofitel Shahd Al madinah seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our luxurious establishment. The Hygiene Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff by implementing and monitoring hygiene practices and standards in accordance with local and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Hygiene Management:
- Develop and implement hygiene policies and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with hygiene standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular hygiene inspections and audits of all areas, including kitchens, restaurants, guest rooms, and public areas.
- Ensure all hygiene practices meet the standards of local health authorities and international best practices.
Training & Development:
- Train and educate staff on hygiene practices, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for new and existing staff.
- Develop training materials and manuals for hygiene practices.
Quality Control:
- Monitor food safety and hygiene practices in all food and beverage outlets.
- Ensure proper sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Oversee pest control measures and liaise with pest control services.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of hygiene inspections, audits, and training sessions.
- Prepare and submit hygiene reports to the management team.
- Document and follow up on corrective actions for any hygiene-related issues.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to address any hygiene-related hazards or risks.
- Participate in health and safety committee meetings and initiatives.
Guest Interaction:
- Address guest inquiries and concerns regarding hygiene and cleanliness.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the property.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Certified in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and/or ISO 22000.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international hygiene standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
