Investment Writer - Intern

Contribute to the functionality and overall efficiency of the Investment Writing (IW) department, in its role as a central provider of investment communications for AXA Investment Managers.

Report to the Head of Investment Writing, your main tasks will be to:

• Co-ordinate with key internal clients (e.g. Fund Managers, Client Reporting, Performance, Compliance, Design) the key inputs required for regular communications, e.g. fund fact sheets, regulatory reports, often within tight timescales
• Use team checklists to request, monitor and follow-up, as necessary, the delivery of inputs for regular client/regulatory communications
• Participate in the creation, and ongoing maintenance of, marketing materials for a variety of products/external audiences
• Work with Design team on updating and reviewing any changes to marketing materials created or amended by IW team
• Co-ordinate timely delivery of regular contributions and data, with internal teams and external suppliers
• Monitor, maintain and potentially improve, the IW ‘Current Activity List’
• Contribute to Co-ordinate the quarterly client reporting functions / responsibilities, ensuring tight deadlines are adhered to
• Collate and report statistics relating to the Key Performance Indicators and time usage of the IW team (Excel), on a monthly basis
• Perform a first level proof read and data check for a range of communications including; presentations, market commentary, draft marketing materials, fact sheets, annual reports etc.
• Check data, commentary, facts and events using financial on-line sources, as requested
• Maintain and update regular fund and market performance data received from other internal teams / external sources
• Update electronic filing after each quarter end
• Liaise with Compliance department to ensure all IW team communications adhere to all relevant regulatory/compliance standards
• Help to maintain electronic compliance system, ensuring all relevant IW team responsibilities are fully complied and accurately documented
• Update internal mailing lists for distribution of regular reports
• Input to work load planning lists and tracking delivery of inputs on a daily basis for the 2-4 weeks following each quarter end
• Suggest/implement new processes, procedures or practices that help the IW team to become a more efficient and effective resource for the AXA IM business.   

What sort of profile are we looking for?

• Aptitude and enthusiasm for effective written communication
• Strong command of the English language, written and spoken
• Proven writing/editing skills would be beneficial
• Previous experience/keen interest in financial markets/asset classes helpful
• Very strong attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong numeracy
