Junior Ground Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

You will join the SES ASTRA TechCom – Engineering – Ground Solutions team for a 2-year graduate programme, where you will work hand in hand on the design and realisation of internal and external customer related projects. You will join "Connect" the Young Graduate Development Programme recently launched by SES ASTRA.

You will support the design, specify and implement:

• TT&C Systems:
  • Satellite Control Systems
  • fixed, transportable or mobile uplink or receive-only stations
  • earth station equipment
  • measurement, communications and monitoring & control systems
• Communication Uplink Stations:
  • Satellite communications uplink stations (fixed and/or mobile)
  • Encoding, multiplexing and modulation infrastructure
  • Network operations centre advanced monitoring and control products
• Operation Centers:
  • Broadcast
  • Ground Operation Centre
  • Multimedia
  • Ground Control Centre
• Carrier Monitoring System & Geolocation Systems

Experiences/Qualifications:

You will soon graduate or have recently graduated and have a good knowledge in several of below areas:
Satellite communications in general and more specific: RF, Amplification, Frequency Conversion, Phase Shifting, Antenna theory, Digital Signal Processing (e.g. filter, phase and amplitude control…), Matlab (experience expected), Computer Science expertise (e.g. Network, Hardware, Application Development & Integration …).

• You have gained work experience via internships performed during your studies.
• You have strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• You have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• You are self-motivated and result-driven.
• You have an analytical sense, self-starting qualities, coordination and priority setting abilities.
• You are able to integrate into cross-functional international project teams.
• You are able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• You are curious, eager to learn and invest a lot.
• You have are ready to travel when required.
• You are fluent in English.
• You have a valid work permit.
